DMZ Tour from the South Korea Side: Lunch! And After Lunch
After visiting the DMZ, we returned to the JSA Visitor Center where we got to shop for souvenirs and parted ways with Sergeant Fulford. We got back on our KoriDoor tour bus and continued on the tour with our KoriDoor guides.
Our first stop was Dorasan station. It is the closest train station to North Korea. While it is a working train station, its intended purpose was to connect the two Koreas by train. For now, it's the end of the line and only station workers commute there. It's a beautiful station. Pity it's not used to its full potential. Crossing my fingers there will be peace one day between the two Koreas.
"To visit this station, you can take a train from imjingang station.
Because Dorasan station is located in the Civilian Control Area, you must apply for the admission at the ticket office in the imjingang station square. You can also there apply for tour package linking to the DMZ. You must bring your ID."
For 500 Won (~50 cents), you can buy a souvenir entrance ticket to the tracks. |
Only 205Km to Pyeongyang! |
Feels lonesome, right? |
