A Few Hours In Amsterdam Part 2

Since I spent so much time at the airport trying to figure my way out, I didn't have that much time to explore. My goal was to have a nice leisurely lunch before heading back to the airport. During my 60 minutes of free wifi time, I used Foursquare to find a restaurant within walking distance of train station with a good rating. I found De Bakkerswinkel, a cozy bakery cafe.

A shame the cow's head was not captured.

Here's me on the way from the train statioin to the bakery cafe. Couldn't pass up this kitschy tourist pic. That's the train station behind me.

Don't worry. There's also an English menu.

Specials of the day and wifi code (yay!)

So many tasty things! The food came out pretty quickly which was good since there were many patrons at the bakery cafe. I started out with a cafe latte - European coffee is always so delicious. I also got a scone with clotted cream, one of my favorite foods. The scone also came with three homemade jams. Eek too many spreads, not enough scone! The jams were awesome. Wish I could have brought some home. My main entree was quiche lorraine with broccoli and bacon. As you can see, an amazing meal. There are several locations of this bakery cafe throughout Amsterdam and each has its own unique decor and character.
